Unique paint and clay pieces, celebrating femme identity, independence & ease
Julia Hariri is a German-Iranian artist based in Berlin. With a background in fashion design, she worked for several years at a renowned fashion brand before fully dedicating herself to her own artistic practice. Today, she expresses her unique vision through both painting and ceramics.
Hariri’s works are characterized by vibrant color palettes, organic shapes, and deliberately constructed compositions. Her aesthetic is strongly inspired by nature, drawing on flowing, intuitive forms that stand in contrast to the structured and often challenging realities of everyday life. While her forms are soft and organic, her compositions maintain a clear sense of order – defined by clean lines and often symmetrical, pattern-like arrangements. This balance reflects her personal pursuit of harmony and clarity.
Her inspiration stems primarily from nature, the human body, and the complex dynamics of contemporary society. From her early studies in life drawing to her professional experience designing garments around the female silhouette, the human body – particularly the feminine form – has played a central role in her creative exploration. Over the years, Hariri’s artistic practice has expanded to include a distinctly feminist perspective, shaped by an awareness of existing social inequalities and a strong commitment to gender justice through art. With her works, the artist seeks above all to convey a sense of freedom and lightness.
Through her paintings and ceramics, Julia Hariri develops a nuanced visual language – one that unites structure and flow, the organic and the controlled, the personal and the political.
